Start your weekend right with this ride starting at Shaws Bridge Park. We are headed to Hibernia State Park with a short add-on for a beautiful view of Chambers Lake.
We‘ve been enjoying some longer rides recently. This one is a recovery ride for our group. The route is a favorite with plenty of good scenery and no major climbs - in short recovery worthy. Plan to work together to stay together.
(Friday at 3:45 pm: please note a new route with a slight change to avoid the bypass in Kennett Square). This will be a Super B pace ride to Hockessin on a relatively flat route with an early start and return. We did this route a few weeks ago and all of us liked the flow. Our focus is always on safety and teamwork and our rest stop will be at the Hockessin Wawa. Contact one of us with any questions and I hope you can make it.
Oso Sweet Bakery Cafe (RT 1 and Creek)

This is a one-time cancer-related fundraising event starting in Chadds Ford with two ride distances (40 and 72 miles). There is no fee, but donations appreciated. See https://www.thenwc.org/event-details/NWC8Philadelphia for details.
Down to DE via a different route this time... join us for a not too fast, not too hilly ride to start the Labor Day weekend!
Christine is out of town, so Bob Lamb will be "leading". We‘ll follow Jerry and Alan‘s group, starting 5 minutes later. This will be a true B- ride, most likely averaging 13.5-14.0 mph, what with all the climbing.
Average ride speed around 14.5 mph; slower up hills, faster on the flats. Regroup at hilltops and work to stay together as a group. No pirates - if you want a faster pace this ride is not for you. Rain, wet roads or high winds will cancel ride - posted by 7:00am.
Forecast calls for a good morning to ride!
NOTE: To avoid congestion at Shaw‘s Bridge, it is strongly suggested that participants park in overflow lot for Delaney Sports Complex (aka "the soccer fields") about a half mile east of Shaw‘s Bridge (501 South Creek Road) and ride over to Shaw‘s Bridge Park.
Going North to Chambers Lake. Stop at Police Station/Town Hall.

Very Hot & Humid Conditions Expected--Keeping It Short & Easy
Short route and EARLIER START. Rest stop in Kennett.
It’s going to be pretty hot so we’ll do easy figure eights to Hockessin. Everyone‘s job is to keep the ride together which shouldn‘t be that hard. We’ll likely come in at the upper range of the pace or beyond as long as the group stays together and is having a great time. Ride leaves from Stroud at 8:45. I leave remotely so don‘t worry if I‘m not there earlier than 8:45.
**Please be respectful of the posted pace, ride leader and expectations of other riders; otherwise consider posting your own ride or better yet ride solo. This is a group ride, NOT A RACE!**
