A-, Ride to Rising Sun (MD), 73
An early, longer ride to Rising Sun and the coffee and goodies at Rise and Grind Cafe in town. Two other quick water stops along the route (mile 19 @ Sunoco and mile 63 @ Landhope Farms). The ride starts @ 7:30 am and ends at Chadds Ford Elementary School (3 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford, PA 19317), NOT the usual lot in West Chester. Feel free to ride from the lot to add more miles; it's an easy cruise down Creek Road.
This will be a "soft drop" ride; please be sure you're comfortable with those proverbial terms and conditions and come equipped with the route and sufficient snacks should there be separation in the group. That said, despite the A- pace, this will not be a full-gas effort...plenty of quiet, pretty roads (and conversation) to enjoy along the way.
Riders commenting on TdF spoilers from the morning's stage will be sent to the front of the group for 20-minute turns.
